Thierry Henry Linked to Shock Management Job After OlympicsThierry Henry Linked to Shock Management Job After Olympics Thierry Henry, a former Arsenal legend, has emerged as a potential candidate for a surprising management position after the Olympic Games. Henry is currently the manager of the France U21 team and will lead the French football team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris next month. According to reports, Henry is among the names being considered by the Welsh Football Association (FAW) to replace Rob Page, who recently parted ways with Wales after failing to qualify for the 2024 European Championship. The FAW is said to be searching for a high-profile replacement and believes Henry fits the bill due to his impressive playing career. However, the FAW faces a financial constraint and may struggle to offer Henry a substantial salary. Henry’s familiarity with Welsh football and his understanding of young players, gained through his experience with the France U21s and the Olympic team, have been cited as reasons for his potential appeal to the FAW. Former Wales striker Robert Earnshaw praised Henry’s football knowledge and suggested that he would raise the standards within the Welsh team. Earnshaw also highlighted Henry’s advanced footballing ideas and his ability to work with young players effectively. While it remains uncertain whether Henry would be interested in the Wales job, the FAW reportedly hopes to convince him to take over.

Thierry Henry has been linked with a shock management job he could take up after the Olympics.
Next month, Arsenal legend Henry will lead the France football team at the 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris.
In August 2023, the 46-year-old was appointed manager of the France U21 side, meaning he would also manage the U23 and Olympic teams.
Ahead of the Olympics, Henry is said to be among the names being considered by the Welsh Football Association.
Last week it was confirmed that Wales had parted ways with Rob Page after three and a half years at the helm.
Page’s future was thrown into doubt after his side failed to secure a place at the 2024 European Championship.
According to the BBC, the Welsh FA wants to take its time to find a perfect replacement and hire a big name. Henry, who enjoyed a stellar playing career, would fit into this picture.
However, it is believed that the FAW cannot offer the Frenchman a huge salary, but they still hope to convince Henry to take over.

Former Wales striker Robert Earnshaw said on BBC Wales’ Elis James’ Feast of Football podcast: “I spent some time with Thierry on the coaching course a few years ago because he was on the Welsh FA course.
“He knows (FAW chief football officer) David Adams and the set-up, and he understands Welsh football. The only thing that struck me when I was with Thierry was that his football brain is brilliant.”
He added: “With France Under-21s and the Olympic team he understands young players. He would raise the bar and the level. I don’t know if he would want that. I saw someone like Thierry do it. His football brain is brilliant, he is so sharp, advanced and has great ideas.”
