MacKay played just seven games for Hibs after joining from Inverness three years ago.

The 23-year-old spent most of his time at the Edinburgh club, playing for Kilmarnock, Inverness and Livingston.

After signing MacKay on a two-year deal, Thistle manager Kris Doolan said on his club’s official website: “We came into this transfer window looking to strengthen the big areas, so adding Daniel to the squad is really pleasing.

“He brings a lot of speed and directness to our attacking options, having played at Premiership level last season.

“In Daniel’s last two full seasons at this level he has played just over 50 games and been involved in 17 goals, which is a good result. We hope he can continue to improve together with some of our attacking players and can produce even more.”
