Building on the success of its inaugural season, the Global Chess League aims to expand its reach with the upcoming Global Chess League Trophy Tour. Teams will consist of six players, including two elite female chess players and a child prodigy. Each team will play 10 matches in a double round-robin format, with the winner determined by a best-of-six board scoring system. Arkady Dvorkovich, President of FIDE, expressed excitement about the league’s mission to elevate chess globally. The ten-day, unique chess competition with top players takes place at Friends House, located in the heart of central London.
This competition is a joint initiative of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and Tech Mahindra.

The second edition will see top players from around the world, including reigning world champions and rising stars, compete in a unique team format that emphasizes strategy, cooperation and high-stakes play.
Building on the success of its first season, the league aims to further broaden its viewership with the soon-to-launch Global Chess League Trophy Tour.
In the tournament, players compete in a unique joint team format consisting of six players, including two top female chess players and a child prodigy per team. Each team will play a total of 10 matches in a double round-robin format, with the winner of each match determined via a best-of-six board scoring system.
