Hawker cautions against assuming that Biden’s health will improve in the coming years, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding the 80-year-old president’s physical and mental well-being. Hawker’s comments stem from recent speculation about Biden’s health following a series of public appearances where he has exhibited signs of cognitive decline. The advisor emphasizes that it is crucial not to speculate on Biden’s health without concrete evidence, but also stresses the importance of considering the potential risks associated with his age. The editorial board of the New York Times has also weighed in on the issue, calling for Biden to resign due to concerns about his health and its potential impact on the nation and democracy. Hawker’s remarks and the editorial highlight the ongoing debate surrounding Biden’s fitness for office and the need for transparency and accountability in assessing his health and ability to serve.
Bruce Hawker, special advisor to Fitzpatrick Advisory, says Americans cannot assume that Joe Biden’s health will improve within the next few years.
“We can only speculate what his health will be like over the next few years, we can’t assume for a second that it will be any better than what we saw yesterday,” he told Sky News Australia.
“So yes, there would be extreme pressure on him. The editorial board of the New York Times wrote in an editorial tonight in the United States that he should resign in the interests of the nation and democracy.”
