Oregon Recruiting Rolls On with Top Tight End CommitmentOregon Recruiting Rolls On with Top Tight End Commitment Oregon’s recruiting momentum continued Saturday morning with the commitment of highly touted Derby (Kan.) tight end DaSaahn Brame. Brame’s commitment elevates Oregon to the fifth-ranked class in the nation, according to the On3 industry team recruitment rankings. “It’s the players there. Definitely the offense they run, I think I fit their offense more than I fit Tennessee’s offense,” Brame explained. Ducks Secure Top Targets on Both Sides of the Line Brame’s commitment is part of a trifecta of top recruits that have committed to Oregon in the last 24 hours. Sacramento Folsom defensive lineman Josia Sharma, ranked in the top 100 by On3, chose the Ducks over Texas on Friday. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Jordan Davison, the 96th-ranked overall prospect, quickly followed suit. Davison praised Oregon’s consistent recruitment style and genuine care for him and his family. The Ducks defeated Tennessee this month for commitment No. 6. Brame is now the third top-100 commit in the mix Dan Lanning and co. as he checks in at No. 98 overall and No. 3 at the TE position in the On3 Industry Ranking.
With a commitment from Brame, the Ducks have moved up one spot and now hold the fifth division of the country, according to the On3 industry team recruitment rankingsAfter finishing No. 3 in the class last cycle, Oregon is on track to finish in a similar position in December.
“It’s the players there. Definitely the offense they run, I think I fit their offense more than I fit Tennessee’s offense,” Brame said of his decision, per Chad Simmons of On3. “That’s a really big thing for me, just the commitment the players and the coaches have to make each other better. They all have the same mentality, they’re trying to win a national championship.”
Oregon now has 13 commits in its class. Only Ohio State, Alabama, LSU and Georgia check in ahead of the new Big Ten schedule, starting June 29.
