According to audio of the dispatch reviewed by The Sacramento Bee, the family member found a man and a woman in a garage in what an officer called “obvious signs” of suspicious death. The victims, described by the family member as a mother and father, were pronounced dead at the scene by police. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, which has not yet identified the victims, will have to determine when they died.
It also has not been released how the couple was killed, but Jimenez said, “Based on the investigation, detectives are treating both deaths as homicides.”
Other family members quickly arrived at the scene, including several children of at least one of the victims, reports showed. Officers and detectives quickly secured the home and began their investigation.
Police did not provide further details about the incident, which was the second homicide in the city in less than two days. A man was shot dead in a hotel parking lot during a brawl Wednesday night.
