At least 11 people were injured when a gas explosion caused part of the roof of a guest house in Peshawar’s university city to collapse.
Rescue 1122 personnel quickly arrived on the scene and transported the injured, including children, to Khyber Teaching Hospital.
The police arrived at the scene together with experts from the explosive ordnance disposal unit.
According to an official, a gas leak appears to have caused the roof to collapse.
At the Khyber Teaching Hospital, spokesman Sajjad Khan confirmed that two patients were in critical condition. The injured included women and children, some with severe burns. Two severely burned patients were shifted to the Burn and Trauma Hospital in Hayatabad, each with 80% burns.
Authorities are actively managing the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected.
Earlier this month, at least seven people, including two children, were injured in a gas leak explosion in Waris Khan area of Rawalpindi.
