Wimbledon 2024 marks the 137th edition of the tennis tournament. It’s scheduled for July 1 to July 14, 2024. The qualifying competition will take place from June 24 to 27.

Where is Wimbledon played?
Wimbledon 2024 will be held at the All England Club on Church Road in London, as the tournament has long been held.
How to watch Wimbledon in Australia?
Like all Grand Slam tennis tournaments, Wimbledon can be streamed on Stan as part of Stan Sport.
A Stan Sport add-on costs an additional $15 on top of your regular Stan subscription, but there is a free trial if you want to test the waters.
Last year, Channel 9 also broadcast Wimbledon live on free-to-air channels 9Gem and 9Now. People who do not have a streaming subscription can also take an option.
What is Wimbledon?
Wimbledon is one of the four major Grand Slam tennis tournaments in the world, along with the Australian Open, French Open and US Open.
Interestingly, Wimbledon has a few different traditions that it has to adhere to (classically British). For starters, it is the only tournament that is still played on grass, which is considered the traditional tennis court.
Participants must adhere to a strict dress code, wearing all white, and the only form of advertising allowed on the field is from official sponsors.
Who’s participating?
As always, the battle for the top spot at Wimbledon will be fierce. Last year’s winners include Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s singles and Markéta Vondroušová in the women’s singles.
The line-up for Wimbledon 2024 is yet to be confirmed, but we do know the names of the Australian players who have been confirmed to compete this year. The list includes 11 players, nine men and two women. The male players are Alex de Minaur, Jordan Thompson, Alexei Popyrin, Chris O’Connell, Rinky Hijikata, Max Purcell, Aleksander Vukic, Adam Walton and Thanasi Kokkinakis, while the two female players accepted are Ajla Tomljanovic and Daria Saville.
