Adrien Rabiot is one of the most prominent free agents available this transfer window. His decision to let his contract with Juventus expire has led to a MADNESS for his signature.

The 29-year-old midfielder’s contract expired on June 30, making him a free agent. There are already plenty of interested parties who want the Frenchman.

Liverpool were named as one of the interested parties last week by reports in the Italian media, with the Reds looking to strengthen their midfield following the expiry of Thiago Alcantara’s contract.

Rabiot confirmed earlier this week that he will no longer be playing for Juventus, with the club left stunned by the player and his entourage refusing to respond to a contract offer before Euro 2024.

Juve’s management had hoped to sign the former Paris Saint-Germain star on a two-year contract, with an option for a third year, for an annual salary of around €7.5 million.

However, the left-footed midfielder decided to fly into the European Championship with an uncertain outlook, leaving Juventus unsure of what he would do next.

Real Madrid and Barca linked with Rabiot

Real Madrid are also among the teams linked with the talented former Manchester City player. Toni Kroos is retired and Luka Modric is out of contract.

The Liverpool connection is also intriguing, as Rabiot has an excellent international reputation and has spent many years working for top European clubs.

Now it has emerged from JijantesFC that Barcelona could be Rabiot’s next destination. The player’s mother and agent, Veronique, are said to have offered her son’s services to the Catalans.

It is no secret that Barça are in a difficult financial situation, having to sell players before they can make any significant signings this summer.

They have been linked with FOUR Liverpool players – Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Kostas Tsimikas and Fabio Carvalho – but they need to offload either Raphinha or Ferran Torres from their attacking line before they can add players in that area.

Barcelona’s financial situation

However, transfer-free clubs could be in line if room is made in the budget, with world champion Guido Rodriguez also linked with a move to the Camp Nou this summer.

If Liverpool are serious about Rabiot, who has been described as ‘world class’ by David Trezeguet, they could find themselves in an auction with Madrid, Barcelona and other Premier League teams also keen to compete.

Rabiot’s last-minute decision to question his future at Juventus has caused a stir in the free agent market.

The 47-cap Frenchman has made more than 200 appearances for Juventus since joining on a free transfer from PSG in 2019, winning one Serie A title and two Coppa Italia titles.
