Non-Perishable Food Drive Benefits Senior CentersNon-Perishable Food Drive Benefits Senior Centers Meals on Wheels Red River Valley is hosting a non-perishable food drive in July. All non-perishable food items are welcome, including canned goods, dried beans, lentils, pasta, rice, broth, and spices. Sponsoring drop-off locations include Guaranty Bank & Trust at Lamar & the Loop, South Main Iron, Love & Bagels, Paris Coffee Company, Nutrition Planet, and Toyota of Paris. Donations will be accepted until July 31st. The donated items will benefit three senior centers that serve individuals 60 and older. “The clients we serve live on a very tight budget,” said Shelly Braziel, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels Red River Valley. “Many have a monthly income of less than $1,000. In July, Meals on Wheels Red River Valley is hosting a non-perishable food drive. Any non-perishable food item is appreciated, but here are a few as an example. Canned goods such as fruits, vegetables, and meats. Also dried beans, lentils, pasta, rice, broth, and spices. The sponsoring locations for drop-offs are Guaranty Bank & Trust at Lamar & the Loop, South Main Iron, Love & Bagels, Paris Coffee Company, Nutrition Planet, and Toyota of Paris.

You can return your items from now until July 31st.

So, in addition to providing a hot meal to each client Monday through Friday, we try to help out where we can.”
