IND vs ZIM live score from 1st T20I: India’s next generation of stars will start auditioning to fill the big holes that are and will be left by the departures of its current stalwarts with the start of the Zimbabwe tour. Three of them – Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja – have already bid farewell to T20Is. Additionally, a few T20I regulars have also been rested from the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. It has opened up a massive opportunity for a bunch of youngsters who have been picked in the squad for the tour starting today in Harare.
They will be led by Shubman Gill, who packs some international experience thanks to his involvement across formats in recent years but this will be the first time that he will be captaining India and that too in the absence of seniors who would have been his guiding light in the past.
Then there are those including Avesh Khan, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi who will also be hoping to put in solid shifts to impress the BCCI selectors and march ahead in the race.
The likes of Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, and Yashasvi Jaiswal – part of India’ world cup winning squad – will be available from the third match onwards meaning the youngsters have two matches to prove their mettle.
