Josh Hartnett Embraces Family Life After Hollywood Hiatus

Josh Hartnett, the Hollywood heartthrob who once captivated audiences in films like “Black Hawk Down” and “Pearl Harbor,” has recently opened up about his return to the entertainment industry and his cherished family life. After a six-year hiatus from acting, Hartnett has been making a gradual comeback in recent years. In an interview with E! News, he discussed how his perspective has shifted since becoming a father of three. “I used to be so career-focused,” Hartnett admitted. “But now, my priorities have changed. My kids are my everything.” Hartnett and his longtime partner, Tamsin Egerton, have been raising their children in London. The actor shared that he enjoys the slower pace of life outside of Hollywood. “I love being a hands-on dad,” he said. “I’m so grateful for the time I get to spend with my family.” While Hartnett still loves acting, he now approaches it with a different mindset. “I’m not interested in chasing fame or fortune anymore,” he explained. “I just want to work on projects that I’m passionate about and that allow me to balance my family life.” Hartnett’s return to Hollywood has been met with enthusiasm from fans who missed his charismatic screen presence. However, he remains adamant about prioritizing his family. “I’m not going to let my career come before them,” he said. “They’re my number one priority.” In addition to his acting, Hartnett has also been involved in philanthropic work. He is an advocate for ocean conservation and has partnered with organizations like Sea Shepherd and Oceana. Reflecting on his journey, Hartnett said, “I’m in a good place now. I have a wonderful family, a rewarding career, and a deep appreciation for the simple things in life.” Josh Hartnett’s dedication to his family and his newfound perspective serve as an inspiring reminder that life’s greatest joys can be found beyond the red carpet.Thousands of UC Academic Employees Return to Work After Court Order

Thousands of UC Academic Employees Return to Work After Court Order

By Steve Gorman LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Thousands of University of California academic employees who went on strike at six campuses to protest administrators’ response to pro-Palestinian protests returned to their jobs Monday under a court order, but their union promised that more protests would follow. An Orange County Superior Court judge late Friday granted a restraining order sought by the university, which said the strike stemmed from non-labor issues and violated the no-strike clause in the union’s contract. University officials originally petitioned the California Public Employment Relations Board, but the panel twice denied their requests for an injunction. Unionized academic researchers, graduate teaching assistants, and postdoctoral scholars have been fired over what they called unfair labor practices in the university’s handling of pro-Palestinian demonstrations in recent weeks. The work stoppage was organized by the United Auto Workers union Local 4811, which represents about 48,000 non-tenured academic employees at 10 UC campuses and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The protest strike began on May 20 at the UC Santa Cruz campus and expanded over the next two weeks to include UCLA, UC Davis near Sacramento, and campuses in San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Irvine. These six campuses serve approximately 31,500 UAW members. The UC system has a total of 10 campuses. Continuing the strike “would have caused an irreversible setback to students’ academic performance and could have stalled critical research projects in the final quarter,” Melissa Matella, UC vice president for labor relations, said in a statement welcoming the restraining order. Judge Randall Sherman set a hearing for June 27 to hear arguments on whether to extend the order. The union’s own strike permit expires on June 30. UAW 4811 leaders denounced the ruling, saying the judge had defied the authority of the Employment Relations Board by intervening in an employment matter that fell outside the court’s jurisdiction. Nevertheless, the union said its members complied with the court order. The UAW said it would focus its efforts on an upcoming grievance procedure against the university. The union is demanding, among other things, amnesty for students and other academic workers arrested or facing disciplinary action for their role in campus protests against Israel’s military offensive in the besieged Palestinian area of Gaza. The strike was the first union-backed protest in solidarity with a wave of pro-Palestinian student activism on dozens of U.S. campuses in recent months. The UAW said it is planning additional protests at UC Davis on Tuesday and at UCLA on Wednesday. Union leaders have said a major impetus for the strike was the arrest of 210 people, including students working on campus, at the site of a Palestinian solidarity protest camp that was broken up by police at UCLA on May 2. Masked assailants armed with sticks and clubs attacked the encampment and its residents the night before, leading to a bloody clash that lasted for at least three hours before police restored order. After returning to Hollywood, Josh Hartnett has given a rare glimpse into his family life. The actor, who is known for his roles in films such as “Pearl Harbor” and “Black Hawk Down,” has been out of the spotlight for several years, focusing on his family. In a recent interview with E! News, Hartnett opened up about his wife, Tamsin Egerton, and their two children, son River and daughter Ocean. “My family is my everything,” Hartnett said. “They’re the reason I get up in the morning.” Hartnett also spoke about his decision to return to acting after taking a break. “I missed it,” he said. “I missed being creative and being part of a team.” Hartnett’s return to acting has been met with positive reviews. He recently starred in the film “The Virtuoso,” and is set to appear in the upcoming film “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.” Despite his success in Hollywood, Hartnett said that his family remains his top priority. “They’re always my first thought,” he said. “They’re the most important thing in my life.”Josh+Hartnett+shares+rare+glimpse+into+family+life+after+returning+to+Hollywood+%26%238211%3B+E%21++NEWS
