FC Barcelona’s Financial Gains from UEFA EURO 2024FC Barcelona’s Financial Gains from UEFA EURO 2024 FC Barcelona has reaped financial benefits from the participation of nine of its players in the UEFA EURO 2024 tournament. UEFA compensates clubs for the loan of their players, paying €10,000 per day for each individual involved in the competition. Since the tournament began, Barcelona has accrued over €2.5 million in income. The breakdown includes: * €220,000 for Robert Lewandowski * €260,000 for Andreas Christensen * €330,000 for Marc-André ter Stegen * €330,000 for Ilkay Gundogan (split with Manchester City) * €330,000 for Ousmane Dembele (split with Borussia Dortmund) * €320,000 for each of its Spanish players (Pedri, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Ansu Fati) * €300,000 for Jules Kounde If Spain reaches the final, Barcelona stands to earn an additional €100,000 per Spanish player, bringing its total income to a potential €3.2 million. Similarly, if France reaches the final, the figure could exceed €3 million. FC Barcelona will also receive compensation from UEFA for Pedri’s injury if it requires more than five weeks of recovery. In such a scenario, the club would receive €300,000. However, Barcelona will not receive any compensation for Joao Felix or Joao Cancelo, as they were only on loan with the Catalans during the qualifying phase. UEFA will instead pay Atletico Madrid and Manchester City for their participation.

No fewer than nine FC Barcelona players took part in UEFA EURO 2024, with several of them playing key roles in their national teams’ campaigns.

The performances of players like Lamine Yamal and Jules Kounde in this competition would undoubtedly have been a source of pride for the Catalan club and its supporters.

However, as SPORT has reported that in addition to this pride, Barcelona has also earned a considerable amount of money from the participation of their players in this competition. In fact, the Catalans have already raised more than €2.5 million for the loan of their players for the competition.

UEFA pays a club €10,000 every day for each player that takes part in the competition. This calculation starts ten days before a player’s national team starts its EURO campaign and ends when the team is knocked out of the competition.

However, this amount is split between two clubs if a player has changed clubs in the last two years and has spent time at two different clubs during the qualifying phase for this tournament. Thus, Barcelona would receive a portion of this income for Gundogan, while they also get something for Ousmane Dembele.

So far, the Blaugranes have received €220,000 for Lewandowski, €260,000 for Christensen and €330,000 for Ter Stegen. They have also received a total of €330,000 for Gundogan and Dembele. They have received €320,000 for each of their Spanish players, while Kounde has received €300,000.

If Spain reach the final, Barcelona will receive an additional €100,000 per player in their coffers. In such a scenario, their total income from UEFA could rise to €3.2 million, while this figure will also exceed €3 million if France reach the final.

In addition, FC Barcelona will receive compensation from UEFA for Pedri’s injury if his recovery period lasts longer than five weeks. Should the midfielder recover before the first league match of the following season, the Catalans will receive €300,000 from UEFA.

However, the Blaugranes will not receive anything for Joao Felix or Joao Cancelo, as they only played on loan at FC Barcelona. UEFA will pay Atletico Madrid and Manchester City for these two players.
