Maroons coach Billy Slater will overhaul his defensive line for the deciding game in Origin on July 17 after Cowboys winger Murray Taulagi was out with a hamstring injury.

Taulagi, who suffered the injury during Golden Point’s Saturday night defeat to Manly, is sidelined along with teammate Xavier Coates after the Storm star tore his hamstring last week.

Broncos player Selwyn Cobbo and Knights veteran Dane Gagai are seen as the leading contenders to replace Taulagi and Coates.

Rabbitohs and Blues superstar Latrell Mitchell will miss Origin III at Suncorp Stadium with a foot injury.

Mitchell, who starred in NSW’s 38-18 win over Queensland in Origin II at the MCG, suffered the injury during Thursday night’s win over Parramatta.

Rabbitohs officials said Mitchell would undergo scans before the NSW squad was announced on Sunday night, but he is believed to be out for a month with an injury to Lisfranc.

Manly’s Tom Trbojevicwho made his comeback on Saturday night against the Cowboys in the centre, and Newcastle’s Bradman Best are among the players likely to be considered for Mitchell.

The NSW squad will be announced on Sunday evening, with the Maroons chosen on Monday.

In the match against North Queensland, the younger brother of the Manly star Ben Trbojevic left the field in the early moments of the second half due to a concussion and was unable to return.

The Newcastle Knights were dealt a blow midway through Sunday’s match against the Raiders when Enari Tuala hobbled off the field. The winger was later ruled out with a torn calf and is set to be sidelined for a period.

Meanwhile, the Roosters move forward Victor Radley was ruled out for the remainder of the match against the Dragons after leaving the field in the 50th minute with a head injury.

Radley attempted a cover tackle on St George Illawarra’s Christian Tuipulotu when his head came into contact with the winger, who subsequently scored.

Roosters teammate Michael Jennings also left the game in the dying minutes after a high tackle on Jaydn Su’A. The Dragons forward was reported for the tackle in the 78th minute.

Warriors defender Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and wingers Dallin Watene-Zelezniak And Marcelo Montoya failed to finish Saturday’s match against the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium.

Nicoll-Klokstad injured his calf in the first half and was forced to leave the field in the 39th minute. He was ruled out by the medical staff at half-time, while Watene-Zelezniak was diagnosed with a category 1 HIA early in the second half.

Montoya continued to fight bravely despite a groin injury before being forced off the field midway through the second half.

Harris missed two games with the injury he initially sustained in Round 10, before returning for his team’s Round 14 win over the Cowboys. He was ruled out for the Round 18 match against the Bulldogs.

Eel prop Junior Paulo Lisfranc suffered a right foot injury in the defeat to Souths and will consult a specialist. The club confirmed on Saturday that he is likely to be out for eight to 10 weeks.

Dolphin whore Jeremy Marshall-King is on track to return to action in 2024 despite requiring surgery on a foot injury he sustained in round 17.

Scans on July 2 confirmed fractures to his second and third metatarsals, but an injury to Lisfranc was ruled out. That could have meant the end of the New Zealander’s season. Instead, the club expects a recovery of eight to 10 weeks.

A double blow for the Titans with a star player AJ Brimson remained on the ice for another week after initially being called up to return from the groin injury he suffered in Round 10. Center Phil Sami also dropped out of the match against the Sharks with a calf injury prior to the captain’s run on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Roosters will play the next month of the season without a striker centre Joseph Manuafter scans confirmed the New Zealand international had suffered two fractures to his hand during the Round 17 win over the Wests Tigers.
