At the PAF’s 77th anniversary celebrations, Romualdez emphasized the House’s support for President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s vision for the armed forces. He stated that the government fully supports initiatives to enhance defense capabilities, improve working conditions, and guarantee the nation’s safety. Romualdez highlighted the government’s substantial budget allocations for advanced aircraft, radar systems, and equipment as proof of its commitment to strengthening defense capabilities. He also acknowledged the PAF’s role in humanitarian and disaster relief operations. The Speaker expressed gratitude for the PAF personnel’s dedication, courage, and sense of duty, recognizing that they are the foundation of national security. He added that the government cares for the well-being of armed forces members and will continue to work towards policies that enhance their welfare. Romualdez’s pledge signals the House of Representatives’ support for the PAF and the armed forces as a whole, ensuring that they have the resources needed to effectively protect and serve the Philippines.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez assured the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the armed forces at large that the House of Representatives will ensure that their modernization and welfare programs are fully funded from the annual national budget, according to a press release from the House of Representatives.

The leader of the 300-plus-member Congress made the pledge during the PAF’s 77th anniversary celebrations.

Romualdez accompanied President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., who was guest of honor and speaker at the event.

According to the Speaker, the House fully supports the President’s vision for the entire armed forces.

“We are committed to providing the necessary legislative support to ensure that the modernisation programmes and welfare initiatives for our armed forces are fully funded and effectively implemented,” he said.

“We will continue to work on policies that enhance our defense capabilities, improve working conditions for our soldiers, and ensure that the Philippines remains safe and secure,” he said.

Romualdez added that the Marcos government, including Congress, “has been steadfast in its commitment to improving our country’s defense capabilities.”

He pointed out that such a deployment is supported by substantial budget allocations for advanced aircraft, sophisticated radar systems and state-of-the-art equipment.

He said the President and Congress also care for the welfare of members of the armed forces.

The party leader thanked the Air Force personnel for their “dedication, courage and unwavering sense of duty, which are the pillars on which our nation’s security rests.”

At the same time, President Romualdez recognized PAF’s participation in humanitarian and disaster relief operations.*
