A popular garden centre in Greater Manchester is hosting interactive gardening workshops for children this summer.
And the best part? You can join in completely for free.
With the summer Now that the time is almost here, there will certainly be many parents, caregivers and guardians in our region. region who are looking for different ways to children entertained and educated while schools are closed for six weeks – especially if this typical rainy Manchester weather continues.
Luckily, Dobbies has everything sorted for you, and that’s because little Mancs can go to the garden centre chain Altrincham in a few weeks go to the store to take part in some hands-on horticulture classes where you can show and tell your knowledge.
The interactive ‘Little Seedlings Club’ workplace – What is called as Show and Tell and Growand is suitable for children aged between four and ten years old – takes place on Sunday 4 August and promises to be a fun and engaging place for children to learn all about plants, wildlife and the environment.

The free sessions include a demonstration from Dobbies staff who will guide novice gardeners through the different stages of plant growth and then provide tips and tricks on how to grow strong, healthy plants.
Children will also learn about the different parts of plants and their roles, and explore the different habitats where plants can grow.
The special ‘show and tell’ section of the sessions then encourages children to bring a plant they have grown and cared for at home so they can share their green-fingered achievements with the group.
Hannah McAtamney, who runs the Little Seedlings Club at Dobbies, says she is passionate about helping children connect with nature at an early age and hopes it will inspire the ‘next generation of gardeners’.

Speaking ahead of the workshop in a few weeks, Hannah said: “Our Little Seedling Club workshops at the Dobbies store in Altrincham are very popular with families in the area. We can’t wait to take children on a journey of discovery through the life cycle of plants and explore the benefits and importance of gardening and growing.
“We look forward to seeing some of the plants they grow at home, and we know they will enjoy showing them off too.”
The Little Seedling Club Show and Tell and Grow workshops at Dobbies in Altrincham will take place on Sunday 3rd August, with two sessions on the day – one at 10:15am and one at 11:30am.
