On May 19, 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry married in a beautiful royal wedding ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The bride chose Clare Waight Keller, Givenchy’s artistic director, to design her wedding dress. The dress was made of a ‘pure white’ double-glued silk dress with a triple-layered silk organza underskirt.

“We talked a lot about what (Meghan) really felt was a modern interpretation of the royal role,” Waight Keller recalled in a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair.

“Not overly feminine, but not really minimal either. That effortless American style, where it just feels really fresh and personal.”

The dress cost $265,000 (approximately $412,000) and took 3,900 hours to make.

Meghan also wore Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, which was loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II and named after Her Majesty’s grandmother.
