The Future of Marijuana Legalization
Here’s what you need to know about the future of marijuana legalization in the United States, from its racist early years to now.
GENEVA — Twisted Rail Brewing Co. is known locally for its craft beer.
Now, after opening the Twisted Cannabis FLX store in Geneva, owner Ian Boni wants to ensure that Twisted Rail also becomes known for its craft flower.
The store, the second legal shop in the Ontario County city, opened July 9 next to Twisted Rail on Exchange Street in Geneva. A grand opening is planned for July 13 and 14, with vendors also scheduled to visit.
“We’re rolling it out slowly until we find our niche,” Boni said.
Flower, edibles, topicals, concentrates and pre-rolls, among other products, are available in-store and online. Seven of the nine vendors are local and operate within a 20-minute drive of Twisted Cannabis, including Bristol Extracts, Forest Flower in Canandaigua and Gage Farms in Penn Yan.
“We really wanted to have a boutique-style operation, kind of like our craft beer,” Boni said. “Craft cannabis, all local.”
There is also the intention to create an open delivery platform so customers can order products online and have them delivered to other Twisted Rail locations in Canandaigua, Honeoye and Macedon, where they can then pick them up, Boni said.
According to Boni, it’s now about raising awareness of products, including those seeking medicinal benefits, and helping them do so. It’s also about doing their part to build the reputation of legal cannabis stores.
At the same time, the Twisted Rail brand not only sells craft beer and cannabis products, but also merchandise.
“It’s the next step,” Boni said. “I’m excited.”
