Dario’s Choice for a MacBookDario’s Choice for a MacBook To best meet the requirements of your workflow, which involves programming, graphic design, and gaming, I suggest considering the following MacBook models: 1. MacBook Air M2: * Features an efficient M2 chip that provides excellent performance for most software applications. * Offers a slim and lightweight design, making it portable and convenient to carry around. * Provides a backlit keyboard, a spacious trackpad, and a Retina display for a comfortable working experience. 2. MacBook Pro 13-inch (M2): * Equipped with a more powerful M2 chip, delivering exceptional performance for demanding tasks. * Boasts a superior battery life compared to the MacBook Air M2. * Features a Touch Bar, which can enhance productivity in certain applications. 3. MacBook Pro 14-inch or 16-inch (M1 Pro or M1 Max): * Equipped with the most powerful M1 Pro or M1 Max chips, offering blazing-fast performance for heavy-duty workloads. * Provide more ports and a larger display, making them ideal for multitasking and creative work. * However, these models are more expensive than the MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Recommended Configuration: * 16GB of RAM to ensure smooth multitasking and performance under heavy workloads. * 512GB or more of SSD storage to accommodate your software and projects. Additional Considerations: * Battery Life: The 13-inch MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air M2 offer similar battery life, while the MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch have extended battery life. * Upgradability: The MacBook Air M2 and the MacBook Pro 13-inch have limited upgrade options, while the MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch offer more upgradeability. * Price: The MacBook Air M2 is the most affordable option, followed by the MacBook Pro 13-inch, and then the MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch. Based on your needs, the MacBook Air M2 or the MacBook Pro 13-inch (M2) with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage would be suitable choices. However, if you require exceptional performance and upgradability, the MacBook Pro 14-inch or 16-inch would be a better investment.

Hello everyone,

I’m Dario, nice to meet you all!

I am a web developer who mainly works with PHP, databases and creating graphics with Canva and Illustrator. In the past year I have also experimented with Flutter to develop a small application.

I have always used a Windows PC but now that I am moving out of my city I need to buy a laptop. I am thinking of switching to a MacBook and would like to get your advice on which model to choose.

These are the software applications that I use regularly:

  • Visual Studio Code
  • Xcode (for Flutter)
  • Disagreement
  • Canvas
  • Photoshopping
  • Illustrative
  • League of Legends
  • Filezilla
  • Navicat

Which MacBook would you recommend for my needs?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Kind regards, Dario
