Schools must adopt the new curriculum once the textbooks are released, as part of the implementation of the National Curriculum Framework – School Education 2023. Classes IX-XII Curriculum: CBSE has already announced the annual syllabus for classes IX-XII, including learning outcomes, pedagogical practices, and assessment guidelines. Schools must adhere to these practices. Class III and VI New Curriculum: NCERT is developing the new syllabus and textbooks for classes III and VI. The process is expected to be completed shortly. NCERT has also developed a Bridge Course for class VI and Brief Guidelines for class III aligned with the new education system. Importance of Updates: These updates aim to improve the quality of education and ensure that students receive relevant and up-to-date learning materials. They also align with the National Curriculum Framework, which is designed to enhance the learning process and student outcomes.

The new textbooks for class VI are expected to be available by the end of July. Schools have been instructed to adopt the new curriculum once the textbooks are released. This update is in line with the Central Board of Secondary Education’s adoption of the ‘National Curriculum Framework – School Education 2023’. Schools are required to implement the recommendations in this framework.

For classes IX to XII, CBSE has already announced the annual syllabus, which includes learning outcomes, pedagogical practices and assessment guidelines. The board stressed on the importance of teaching as per these practices.

Currently, NCERT is developing the new syllabus and textbooks for classes III and VI. On 18 March 2024, NCERT informed CBSE that this process would be completed shortly. In addition, NCERT has developed a Bridge Course for class VI and Brief Guidelines for class III in line with the new education system and the National Curriculum Framework.

This step is an important step towards improving the quality of education and ensures that students receive up-to-date and relevant learning materials.
