Sunderland have rejected a £7million bid from Galatasaray for defender Trai Hume, according to reporter Michael Graham.
Sunderland expect their star players to attract admiring glances from clubs across Europe in the coming months.
The Black Cats are no strangers to bids and interest in key assets, but in recent seasons they have done well to fend off the advances of other clubs, holding on to many of their best players despite many believing they are ready for a step up.

Northern Ireland international Trai Hume is among those expected to find success at a higher level, with the hard-working full-back having been a big hit since joining from Linfield in January 2022.
It has now been revealed that Sunderland have rejected a bid for the 22-year-old player.
Reporter Michael Graham writes on X that Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce have seen a £7million bid for Hume rejected by the Championship club. There is no word on whether they will return, nor how much the Black Cats want for their top defender.

A championship goal
Since joining Sunderland from his native Northern Ireland, Hume has emerged as one of the Championship’s best defenders.
He helped them win promotion from League One in his first six months on Wearside and it wasn’t long before he was firmly established as a regular starter the following season. Since then, Hume has made 84 appearances for the Black Cats, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

Hume has become a regular for his country and has 13 international matches to his name.
Now that Hume has become a major player at the age of 22, there is excitement about where he will go in the coming years. But for now, Sunderland appear to be standing firm amid the interest in his services.
Who else can be bid on?
As Graham points out, Hume is not the only Sunderland star to attract the attention of leading players across the continent this summer transfer window.
Most notably, Dan Ballard is a rumoured target for French side RC Lens. The Ligue 1 side is managed by Will Still, who is in his first transfer window since joining from Stade Reims.
Elsewhere, Jack Clarke is said to be attracting interest. Midfielder Dan Neil will also have admirers elsewhere, although Chris Rigg’s new deal has put to rest speculation over his future.
Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris is keen to keep hold of his star players, but big bids from big clubs could make that difficult.
