Variety of Activities Children can participate in a wide range of free play activities, including face painting, archery, crafts, basketball, and a climbing wall. Niki Stobbs, Chair of PLAY Worcester “This funding will allow us to provide 50 free summer play activities for children in Worcester, particularly those in areas of greatest need,” said Niki Stobbs, Chair of PLAY Worcester. “These events will provide opportunities for children and families to connect and engage in activities that may not be readily available to them due to the current cost of living.” Reach and Impact Last year, PLAY Worcester’s activities reached over 1,300 children and families at 17 different locations. In addition to offering fun and engaging play experiences, the program also connected families with essential services like libraries, dentistry, and education. Community Partnerships PLAY Worcester collaborates with other community support organizations to ensure that families have access to a range of resources that address their specific needs.

PLAY WORCESTER has received funding for free sessions and events where children can meet and play together in their local community.

The subsidy comes from Platform Housing’s fund for customers and local charities.

Play Worcester focused on areas of the city where need is greatest, where families have fewer opportunities to play together.

The sessions will take place in various public spaces in Worcester.

Niki Stobbs, Chair of Play Worcester, said: “This funding will allow us to provide 50 free summer play activities for children in Worcester, living in areas of greatest need.

“Children and families can attend events organised by our fun teams in their communities for free, something that is so important given the current high cost of living.

“Last year, 1,300 children and families enjoyed activities such as face painting, archery, crafts, basketball and a climbing wall at 17 different locations.

“Through our partnership with other community support organizations, families were referred to libraries, dentistry, education and other child-specific services.”
