On Tuesday, July 16, the “Stick Season” singer played his second sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, where he entertained fans with his twangy alt-rock anthems.
During his stunning performance, the 27-year-old Vermont native told the audience about his previous stay in New York.
“It feels like a second home to me, and I want to thank you for being there for me. I know it’s the middle of f—ing week,” Kahan said, before dryly joking: “My only goal tonight is to leave everyone a little less happy than when they walked in. I’m disappointed in the overwhelming positivity in this room. It makes me angry.”
For nearly two hours, the Grammy-nominated star led the crowd in singing along to his hits and fan favorites, from “All My Love” to “She Calls Me Back.”

Towards the end of his performance, Kahan thanked his fans – and his band and crew – for their support.
“Every morning I wake up and I pinch myself, and I will never take it for granted, and I will be here as long as you’ll have me,” he said, before giving a sweet shout-out to his mother, Lauri Berkenkamp. “I want to thank my mom so much for being here tonight supporting me. I love you, mom.”
Several fans enjoyed the show from a suite in the arena, thanks to Marriott Bonvoy Moments, which gives members access to experiences around the world using points earned through the program. As the concert drew to a close, Kahan closed the show with his smash hit “Stick Season” — and invited surprise guest, “Soup” singer Remi Wolf, to duet with him on the song. He performed the single with tour opener James Bay the night before at MSG, and has previously performed the song with artists including Renée Rapp and Towa Bird.
Kahan, who released his breakthrough album Stock season in October 2022 — will continue touring and playing festivals in the US and abroad through September.
