In the hotel’s lively beer garden, visitors were greeted with a wide array of friendly animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Children eagerly entered the enclosure, getting up close and personal with their new furry and feathered companions. Parents and caregivers appreciated the safe and comfortable environment, allowing them to relax in the beer garden while keeping an eye on their little ones. Local mother Eliza Thrash hailed the event as a fantastic initiative, expressing her gratitude for having such a family-friendly attraction in the neighborhood. Not only did this event cater to local families but also visitors from afar, providing an enjoyable outing for all. Innkeeper Scott Coman, inspired by his own experience as a father, realized the need for engaging school holiday activities. Recognizing the success of the petting zoo, he announced plans for more such events in the future. To continue the excitement, a reptile show will be held at the hotel’s beer garden on July 19th from noon to 2 pm. This event aims to promote awareness and conservation of nature through education. On Friday 12th July, the Royal Hotel Kew surprised local families with a petting zoo, thanks to a partnership with Macleay Valley Farm.

The hotel’s popular beer garden is home to a lively petting zoo with all sorts of fun animals, such as goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits and guinea pigs.
Children of all ages had the chance to enter the enclosure and get up close and personal with their feathered and furry friends.
Parents and caregivers found the setup ideal as they could easily keep an eye on their children while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the beer garden.
Local mother Eliza Thrash expressed her appreciation, telling News Of The Area: “It’s a great initiative and we’re so glad we have something like this close to home, and that there are also entrepreneurs who are focused on the community.”
The event attracted not only families from the region, but also visitors from outside the region, for whom the event was a perfect outing for the whole family.
Innkeeper and local resident Scott Coman praised the day’s success.
“We had exceptional feedback from grandparents, parents and of course the children,” he said.
Mr Coman, a father of two young children, said he is always looking for fun activities during the school holidays.
In the run-up to the current holiday season, he thought it would be a great idea to organize free events in the hotel’s beautiful beer garden.
The positive reception of the petting zoo confirmed that his idea was a success.
Following the success of this event, Mr Coman confirmed that he has plans to continue organising school holiday events for the community.
Today (Friday 19th July) from 12:00 to 14:00 there will be a reptile show in the beer garden of the hotel. This is another fun activity for families who want to promote awareness and conservation of nature through education about nature.
The Royal Hotel Kew’s commitment to family-friendly entertainment is clearly resonating with the community and locals are looking forward to future events with great anticipation.
