The network will provide a comprehensive suite of services, including spine and stroke care, at both UM Health-Sparrow in Lansing and MSU Health Care in East Lansing. Patients will benefit from access to a wider range of specialists and state-of-the-art facilities. The partnership was approved by the UM Supervisory Board and will involve UM Health neurosurgeons working full-time at UM Health-Sparrow starting this summer. MSU Health Care will contribute outpatient and inpatient neurology, neurosurgery, electrodiagnostics, and infusion services. “This collaboration will provide Michigan patients with a more comprehensive and coordinated experience for their neurological care,” said Margaret Dimond, president of UM Health Regional Network. “It’s a progressive partnership that will drive innovation in diagnosis and treatment.” “As MSU Health Care builds for the future, partnerships like this help us create patient-centric experiences,” added Seth Ciabotti, CEO of MSU Health Care. LANSING — MSU Health Care and University of Michigan Health are partners in a new neurology department that they say will expand neurosurgical and neurological services in mid-Michigan.
The Neuro Care Network will be comprised of professionals from both entities, with services provided at both UM Health-Sparrow in Lansing and MSU Health Care in East Lansing, the two partners said. The network will provide greater access to spine and stroke care and other specialty services, UM Health-Sparrow said.
The two entities announced the new network on Thursday after the UM Supervisory Board approved a joint operating agreement.
“This collaboration will provide access to a more comprehensive and coordinated experience for patients in Michigan who require specialized care for a neurological condition,” said Margaret Dimond, president of UM Health Regional Network, in a press release. “It is a unique and progressive partnership that will serve as a model for collaboration between universities on important diagnostic and treatment breakthroughs.”
Starting this summer, three UM Health neurosurgeons will work full-time at UM Health-Sparrow in Lansing, the health care provider said.
MSU said the new network will include outpatient and inpatient neurology, neurosurgery, electrodiagnostics and infusion services. The two partners have a history of working together to provide neurological care in mid-Michigan.
