FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness expects a decision on a new coach to replace Thomas Tuchel within a week.

Tuchel will leave at the end of the season after Bayern lost the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen. Next week, the team will face Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

“I think we will make a decision within a week,” Hoeness said Friday in comments reported by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Since Tuchel’s departure was announced in February, Bayern have missed out on the arrivals of Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso and Germany’s Julian Nagelsmann, who both opted to stay with their teams. Since then, Austrian coach Ralf Rangnick, formerly of Manchester United, has said he has been in contact with Bayern.
