Employers were eager to hire qualified candidates. In addition to job recruitment, the fair also offered workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and networking. These workshops aimed to equip job seekers with the necessary tools to enhance their job search efforts. The event proved to be a valuable resource for both job seekers and employers. By bringing together job seekers and potential employers in one convenient location, the Community Career Fair at Texarkana College successfully facilitated the search for employment opportunities within the community.

TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) – Around 60 employers from various industries were out recruiting on Wednesday, July 18 at the second annual Community Career Fair at Texarkana College.

College leaders say they decided to have this annual event in the summer so the entire community and not just college students could attend.

Lee Williams, the executive director of student success at Texarkana College, and some of the employers in attendance of the career fair were ready to hire job seekers on the spot.

“It is so important for our community because it allows our community to sustain our workforce, and it also allows our community to pick local people who are in our community. So we really want to be a part of that here at TC, and we want to be able to put more into our workforce,” Williams said.

The event featured workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and networking, which according to officials, will help job seekers develop the skills needed to succeed in their job search.
