Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls 2 Press Conference Quotes
Nathan Heaney
“No, I don’t do that (I think the first fight was close),” Heaney said. “Honestly, the first seven rounds were…easy…I was switching off and that allowed him to pass me in round eight. Obviously I still finished the round strong in round eight and had a great round nine and obviously he passed me in round eleven, it’s just one of them…If he says he won the fight, I just don’t know how you can do that (so score). It’s amazing that it was a draw, honestly, but, like in a competitive fight, I still won the fight by two or three rounds. So it’s still competitive and close, but I didn’t agree at all with it being a draw.”
Brad Pauls
“Yes (this is an opportunity to right a wrong),” Pauls said. “I wouldn’t say (the first fight was) like a robbery or something. Like I said before, maybe a little unfair. But I’m just really grateful that I’m getting another chance. I thought it was the right thing to do. I have to respect Nathan and his team for arranging the rematch. I think we’ll get a second fight because people enjoyed the first fight so much. So yeah, another entertaining one on Saturday night.”
Prediction of battles
Around the middle rounds of the first bout, Pauls seemed to be showing signs of fatigue, more so than Heaney. Should that be the case in the rematch, Heaney should be able to capitalize on it if he makes the right adjustments. While the British middleweight champion has a lower knockout percentage than Pauls, he does have the ability to box from distance and win rounds. Expect Heaney to take the win via unanimous decision this time around.
