CAMERON PARK – A driver has died and alcohol and speed are believed to have been factors in a crash near Placerville on Thursday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident happened just after 9 p.m. near Country Club Drive, near Los Santos Drive.
According to the CHP, a 2017 Ford truck left the road and crashed into trees in the front yard of a home.
The driver, a 30-year-old man, was not wearing his seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He died at the scene, the CHP said.
The passenger, also a 30-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
