The tournament, organized by the Assam Rifles in partnership with the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM), commenced on July 16th and attracted 13 enthusiastic teams from villages and clubs across the district. In a thrilling final, Senapati Sporting Club outclassed Warriors Volleyball Club to secure the top honor. Colonel Aditya Deo, Commandant of the 16th Assam Rifles, Maram, addressed the closing ceremony and expressed his enthusiasm for promoting sports in the region. He announced plans to host similar events regularly. Colonel Deo congratulated the champion team and urged them to continue their winning streak. He also encouraged the runners-up to stay determined and improve their skills. The Commandant presented the trophy and cash prizes to both teams. Individual awards were also distributed. Rotciv of Senapati Sporting Club received the “Best Lifter” award, Navei of Warrior Volleyball Club was named “Best Spiker,” and Sakil of Senapati Sporting Club emerged as the “Player of the Tournament.” The success of the Senapati Sporting Club and the enthusiastic participation of all teams demonstrated the passion for volleyball in the Senapati district. The tournament served as a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and encouraged a healthy sporting culture in the region.

Senapati, July 20: Senapati Sporting Club won the championship title at the district men’s volleyball tournament on Saturday.
The tournament was organised by the Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) from 16th July at Senapati. The tournament saw enthusiastic participation of 13 teams representing various villages and clubs from across the Senapati district.
In the thrilling final that took place today, Senapati Sporting Club defeated Warriors Volleyball Club to take top honours.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Colonel Aditya Deo, Commandant, 16 Assam Rifles, Maram, said that such volleyball tournaments had been organised earlier in Maram, T/Khullen area but at the village level.
He continued that the event was organised with the aim of promoting sports in the region and that more such events will be organised regularly.
Colonel Aditya Deo also encouraged the champion team to keep up the pace and keep winning more while he also consoled the runners-up team to not lose heart and work harder. The Commandant of Assam Rifles also handed over the trophy and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up teams.
