A weathered barn in Chester County has been renovated and transformed into a beautiful entertaining space, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for the Main line today.

The barn has special meaning for the new owner. As a girl, she rode her pony past the barn and the adjacent stables. As an adult, she decided to buy the property.

“The space had so much sentimental value to me, but it was in disrepair,” she said. “I needed help to transform my vision into new memories.”

She decided to hire B&D Builders, a company of Lancaster County shed experts with over twenty years of experience, and they were able to make her entire wish list a reality.

The stables still have their authentic appearance, but inside there is now a luxury apartment.

“They gutted the old space and turned it into an absolutely beautiful vaulted space,” the owner said. “They added a proper bathroom and a private office.”

Meanwhile, the banquet hall has been given a new beamed ceiling with huge chandeliers, a large kitchen and an HVAC system.

“It’s a beautiful space, with most of the details handcrafted using historic materials or processes,” the owner said.
