Popular Hausa singer, Dauda Adamu, better known as Rarara, has revealed how a Christian captive cared for his mother, Hauwa Adamu, while she was held captive in the kidnappers’ den.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the 75-year-old woman was released on Thursday after spending nearly three weeks in captivity.
In a social media post on Saturday, Rarara thanked Nigerians for their prayers and well wishes during his mother’s ordeal.
He also appreciated the efforts of President Bola Tinubu, First Lady Remi Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Security, Shehu Buba and other prominent Nigerians for their efforts in securing the release of his mother.
“The prayers have borne fruit. What struck me the most is how a Christian man chose to remain captive to take care of my mother. He was kidnapped a month earlier and was supposed to leave the bandits’ den after meeting their demands, but he refused to leave.
“When he saw mom crying, he insisted on staying until mom was released. He stayed for two more weeks to take care of her.
“The irony is that this man does not even have the same faith as Mama. I sincerely thank you all and I pray that Allah rewards you accordingly,” he said.
He also said that the government is doing enough to address insecurity in the country.
