Film enthusiasts from the region will gather at the Queenscliff Town Hall for the 12th annual Queenscliff Film Festival from June 28 to 30. The festival aims to showcase films that are not easily accessible in the area. This year’s program features five carefully selected international films that highlight the best of the human spirit. “The 2024 program is a curated menu of five award-winning films that showcase what talented filmmakers are good at: bringing powerful and moving stories to our cinemas,” says festival committee chair Rose Ott. The festival kicks off on June 28 with “Last Film Show,” a coming-of-age drama that follows a young boy who falls in love with cinema. The event will include an opening evening with wine and snacks and a special guest appearance by Sigrid Thornton. On June 29, the festival presents “Rose & Frank,” an Irish comedy-drama; “The Taste of Things,” a French historical romance; and “Perfect Days,” a poetic Japanese/German film.
