The project, led by veteran royal reporter Ulrike Grunewald, aimed to explore details of Markle’s life before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018. Grunewald and her team reportedly gathered information from neighbors and acquaintances in Montecito, California, where the couple resides. However, on Sunday, it was announced that the documentary was being put on hold while producers ensured the accuracy and legal correctness of allegations presented. “Every detail is checked and double-checked to make sure it is legally correct and factually correct,” a source told the Express newspaper. The Sussexes have been reportedly uneasy about potential revelations, with an insider stating that “there are a lot of things that they both, and Meghan in particular, don’t necessarily want to be in the public domain.” Before marrying Harry, Markle acted in the legal drama “Suits” for eight seasons and was briefly married to film producer Trevor Engelson. The documentary’s postponement comes at a time when Markle has been criticized for her public appearances and business ventures, leading to accusations of a lack of self-awareness. Writer Esther Krakue has suggested that the disconnect between the Sussexes’ perception and public opinion may stem from their perceptions of their own past actions.

A new documentary set to shed light on Meghan Markle’s “colourful past” has been mysteriously postponed, months after the Sussexes reportedly raised concerns about the project.

Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue has spoken out about reports that Meghan Markle is baffled by public criticism of her public appearances and business ventures. According to recent reports, the Duchess of Sussex does not understand why people do not admire her. Ms Krakue has claimed that there is a lack of “self-awareness” from both Prince Harry and Meghan and what the public and media seem to think of them.

The documentary is produced by veteran royal reporter Ulrike Grunewald for the ZDF network and will reportedly reveal shocking details about Meghan’s past before her marriage to Harry in 2018.

Ms Grunewald and her team reportedly travelled all the way from Europe to Montecito, California, to speak to Harry and Meghan’s neighbours and get an insight into their private lives.

However, it was announced on Sunday that the project has been put on hold for the time being, while producers do everything they can to ensure that the allegations in the documentary are legally correct.

“The team wants to make sure that anything used about Meghan Markle is accurate,” a source told the Express newspaper on Sunday.

“Every detail is checked and double-checked to make sure it is legally correct and factually correct.”

Possible interviewees include Frank McGinity, the Sussexes’ elderly neighbour, who has publicly criticised the couple for not being friendly after they rebuffed his attempts at friendship and left him standing at the front door.

An insider revealed that the Sussexes are even more concerned about possible embarrassing information about Meghan’s past life coming to light in the documentary.

“There are a lot of things that they both, and Meghan in particular, don’t necessarily want to be in the public domain,” an insider told OK magazine in May after the project was announced.

“It’s no secret that they both led colorful lives before they met, and while Harry has spoken about many of her mistakes in his book, there are still things about Meghan that we don’t know.”

Before marrying Harry, Meghan was a successful actress who starred in the popular legal drama series Suits for eight seasons, leaving the series just before her royal wedding.

The Duchess of Sussex also married film producer Trevor Engelson in 2011, but separated two years later. The divorce was finalized in 2014 due to “irreconcilable differences.”

“Harry and Meghan are now desperate to put it all behind them and start afresh. I think Harry is worried that their newfound happiness will be ruined if Meghan’s past is investigated,” the OK source said.
