But there are different types of Lightning Lanes. What is the difference between Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass?
For a price that varies depending on the park(s) you visit and the date, the Disney Lightning Line Multi Pass lets you skip the long lines at approximately 50 attractions in the four parks with Lightning Lanes. For that price, you can book a Lightning Lane for up to three attractions in advance of your trip (seven days in advance if you’re staying locally, or three days in advance if you’re not). But on top of that, Disney offers Lightning Lane Single Pass. When this service first launched in August 2021, Disney branded it as “Individual Attraction Selections.” This service allows you to pay individually for up to two rides per day to use Lightning Lane at a specific time for the most popular rides in Disney World prior to your trip.

The Answer: The cost of Individual Lightning Lanes varies by ride, day, and other Disney algorithm variables. So, what we really know is that the price for Individual Lightning Lanes (in old Disney-speak, the cost of Individual Attraction Selections) will fluctuate, which is hard for some of us hardcore budget planners to swallow.
However, in October 2022, Genie+ and Lightning Lanes came to a head: Disney implemented date-based pricing for the Genie+ service. This means that the price can vary even more significantly than before. Now, the price of an individual Lightning Lane can increase when demand is high.
During the 2022 holiday season, Individual Lightning Lane prices reached new heights. Here’s a sample of the price ranges spotted late in the year:
- $20 to $22 for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- $15 to $17 for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- $12 to $15 for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
