Once the Bill is introduced, the Government of West Bengal can induct a representative of the Department of Backward Classes Welfare into the said Corporation.

Sources within the West Bengal government said that as per the plans, the government representative to be included in the corporation will be either the Departmental Secretary of the Ministry of Backward Classes Welfare or a person of the rank of Joint Secretary of the same ministry.

Sources say that once the new bill is submitted on Wednesday afternoon, it will be discussed on Thursday.

According to sources, consideration is being given to inducting a senior representative of the West Bengal Backward Classes Welfare Department into the corporation to ensure better oversight and transparency in the functioning of the corporation, including better utilisation of funds allocated to the corporation for the welfare of the backward class.
