Zosia Mamet plays Pampinea, a spoiled child who never grew up, while Saoirse-Monica Jackson portrays Pampinea’s servant, who finds herself in some dark situations. “The Decameron” is a timely and thought-provoking series that offers a unique perspective on the human condition. It’s a must-watch for anyone interested in history, comedy, or drama.

“Extra’s” Melvin Robert spoke with Tony, Zosia Mamet and Saoirse-Monica Jackson about the dark comedy series, which is set amid the deadliest pandemic in human history, the bubonic plague.

Tony said, “You see a lot of moments of people confronting our just mortality and what happens when death is around the corner. You see the best of humanity and you see the worst of humanity.”

According to Hale, the story is relevant to today’s world, with the COVID-19 pandemic shaking the world to its foundations in 2020.

While Tony plays the role of steward Sirisco who will do anything to save himself, Zosia takes on the role of the spoiled Pampinea, whom she described as a “petulant child who never grew up.”

Saoirse-Monica plays Pampinea’s “pure” servant, who “finds herself in some pretty dark situations.”

“The Decameron” is now available on Netflix.
