A man from Andhra Pradesh was hospitalised after a dangerously reckless attempt to play with a cobra, an incident that has sparked outrage on social media. The footage, which surfaced on X, shows Nagaraju from Kadiri in Sathyasai district. The video shows Nagaraju, reportedly drunk, attempting to handle a cobra that had wandered onto the campus premises in Kadiri. The snake initially wriggled into the campus premises, prompting Nagaraju to try to grab it. When the cobra retreated into the bushes, Nagaraju caught the snake and brought it back to the road to continue its reckless interaction.

In the video, Nagaraju is seen repeatedly hitting the cobra on the head despite desperate warnings and pleas from bystanders urging him to stop. His disregard for the snake’s danger is evident as he continues to mishandle it and even steps on it. The cobra, agitated by his actions, eventually bites Nagaraju. As the situation worsened, bystanders quickly called for an ambulance. Nagaraju was then rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

Since the video went live, it has attracted a lot of attention, with many expressing their outrage in the comments. One user asked: “Why is no one taking the right action? There are few people around him. Thanks to the people who called an ambulance.”

Another commented: “Nagaraju still doesn’t mean the naga won’t bite… What patience the cobra shows. That guy is a wasted existence on earth…”

Someone else suggested: “He should be booked for animal cruelty. Poor snake.”

Several users pointed out the inactivity of the bystanders. “Instead of taking a video, someone could have pulled him aside and let the snake escape. Snake was very patient for a long time,” one of them said.

Another added: “Why did the bystanders allow the man to continue with this dangerous act? There should be a law against people who make videos without offering assistance to people like in this case.”

Criticism continued with comments such as, “Once he is released, put him in jail for endangering the life of a snake” and “Every drunk man should be bitten like this.”

Someone commented: “Look how the snake warned and hesitated to bite to the utmost. Animals are wiser than humans.”

On a lighter note, one user joked: “He mistook his drink for antidote,” while another added: “Drunk people consider themselves Bahubali.”
