Taylor Swift posted a message on social media Tuesday offering her condolences, a day after two children were killed and six other children were seriously injured in a shooting. stabbing attack during a dance and yoga class in the UK based on her music. Two adults were also in critical condition on Tuesday.
“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport continues to wash over me and I am just in complete shock,” Swift wrote on social media. “The loss of life and innocence and the horrific trauma that has been inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and the first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I don’t know how I can ever express my condolences to these families.”

A 17-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and murder. A knife was seized after the attack, police said Monday.
As of Tuesday morning, a group of Taylor Swift fans had raised the equivalent of about $36,000 — double their fundraising goal — to support the victims of the attack and their families, according to CBS News partner network BBC News.

The fundraising page says the group is working with the regional Alder Hey Children’s Charity, “raising money for the funeral of the two young Swifties who tragically died.” A number of children involved in the attack are being treated at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, BBC News reported.

“The idea that these parents are going through hell right now, and the idea that they’re having financial stress because of this, breaks our hearts,” Cristina Jones, from the UK and EU Taylor Swift Facebook group, told the BBC. “There’s no way we can make it better, but taking some of the stress away was absolutely a priority for us.”
