The lightshow, aptly titled “Savannah After Dark,” showcases the district’s architectural masterpieces, including City Market, Ellis Square, and Christ Church. With each projection, Savannah’s rich history comes to life. Images of the city’s founders, scenes from the American Revolution, and moments of everyday life evoke the spirit of Savannah’s past. The lightshow also celebrates the city’s diverse culture, featuring performances by local artists, musicians, and dance companies. “We are thrilled to add this captivating experience to Savannah’s already vibrant nightlife,” said Mayor Van Johnson. “Savannah After Dark enhances the beauty of our Historic District and offers a unique way for visitors to explore our city’s heritage.” The lightshow, produced by renowned lighting designer Lightswitch, is synchronized with original music composed by Savannah’s own Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra. It begins at 9 pm each evening and lasts approximately 20 minutes. Visitors are encouraged to take a stroll through the district, admiring the projections and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere.
