The installation, which is titled “The Biggest Little City,” is a 20-foot-tall sculpture made of recycled metal and neon lights. The sculpture was created by local artist Chris Wimmer, who was inspired by Reno’s nickname. “I wanted to create a piece that would be both iconic and accessible,” Wimmer said. “I think this sculpture does that.” The sculpture is located on the corner of Virginia Street and Center Street, in the heart of downtown Reno. It is surrounded by a plaza that will be used for public events and gatherings. “This is a great addition to downtown Reno,” said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. “It’s a beautiful piece of art that will be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.” The installation has been well-received by the public. “I love it!” said one resident. “It’s so unique and it really captures the spirit of Reno.” Another resident said, “This is a great way to celebrate Reno’s nickname.
