Highlights of the Season: * Opening Night: A grand celebration with a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, conducted by Zacharias. * Beethoven’s Birthday: A tribute to the musical icon with a performance of his Symphony No. 9, featuring the San Antonio Symphony Chorus. * World Premieres: The season will feature several world premieres by composers such as Nico Muhly, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Angélica Negrón. * Dance Collaborations: The SAS will collaborate with the Movin’ Spirits Dance Company for “Stravinsky’s Firebird,” and the Texas Ballet Theater for “Romeo and Juliet.” * Guest Artists: Internationally renowned soloists scheduled to perform with the SAS include pianist Mitsuko Uchida, violinist Augustin Hadelich, and cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
