Baton Rouge Busts International Drug RingBaton Rouge Busts International Drug Ring In a major drug trafficking takedown, law enforcement agencies in Baton Rouge have dismantled a sprawling international drug ring, seizing millions of dollars in contraband and arresting dozens of suspects. The investigation, which spanned several months, involved undercover operations, wiretaps, and coordination with international law enforcement partners. The ring operated across multiple states and countries, including Mexico, Colombia, and Honduras. On Tuesday, authorities carried out simultaneous raids at multiple locations, including warehouses, residences, and stash houses. Over 30 individuals were arrested, including the alleged ringleaders. Seized during the busts were massive quantities of drugs, including: * Over 100 kilograms of cocaine * 50 kilograms of methamphetamine * 20 kilograms of heroin * Numerous pounds of marijuana In addition to the drugs, law enforcement also confiscated approximately: * $5 million in cash * 10 luxury vehicles * Several firearms The drug ring allegedly distributed large quantities of illicit substances throughout the United States, generating millions of dollars in illegal profits. Authorities believe the operation was run by a Mexican drug cartel. “This was a significant blow to a major drug trafficking organization that was fueling addiction and violence in our communities,” said Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul. “We’re grateful for the hard work and dedication of our officers and all law enforcement partners involved in this operation.” The arrests and seizures are expected to disrupt the drug ring’s activities and prevent the further distribution of dangerous substances. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities expect to make additional arrests in the coming weeks. “This takedown demonstrates our unwavering commitment to combating drug trafficking and protecting our communities,” said U.S. Attorney Duane Evans. “We will continue to work diligently with our partners to dismantle these criminal enterprises and hold those responsible accountable.”
