Out of an abundance of caution, the bridge was closed for approximately two hours while the investigation was conducted. Traffic was diverted to nearby routes during the closure. After it was deemed safe, the bridge was reopened to traffic at approximately 10:30 AM. Commuters and tourists were relieved to see the bridge back in operation. The discovery of the suspicious package has raised concerns about security at the Golden Gate Bridge.
