The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 27th, 2023, on Kenosha Street. According to witnesses, the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Robert Jones, was driving a pickup truck when he became involved in an altercation with the victim, who was driving a sedan. As the two vehicles approached an intersection, Jones allegedly pulled out a chainsaw and threatened the victim. Witnesses reported seeing Jones approach the victim’s car and attempt to hit the window with the blade of the saw. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Michael Williams, was able to drive away from the scene unharmed. He immediately called 911 and reported the incident. Police responded to the area and located Jones in his pickup truck a short distance away. He was taken into custody without incident. During questioning, Jones admitted to having an altercation with the victim but claimed that he did not use a chainsaw. However, witnesses’ statements and video footage obtained from a nearby security camera contradict Jones’ account. Robert Jones has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment. He remains in custody pending his arraignment.
