The firetruck was responding to a medical emergency when it collided with a Honda Civic. The impact of the crash caused the firetruck to roll over onto its side, trapping the two firefighters inside. Emergency crews worked quickly to free the firefighters, who were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda Civic was also injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Portland Police Bureau. The crash has prompted an outpouring of support for the injured firefighters.
