Suspicious Kittens Rescued from Wilmington WarehouseSuspicious Kittens Rescued from Wilmington Warehouse Wilmington, Delaware – Animal control officers were called to an abandoned warehouse on the edge of Wilmington after receiving reports of suspicious kittens inside. Upon arrival, they discovered a litter of five young kittens huddled together in a dimly lit corner. The kittens, estimated to be around 6 weeks old, were emaciated, covered in fleas, and had severe eye and respiratory infections. They appeared to have been abandoned inside the warehouse for an extended period. “It was heartbreaking to see these tiny creatures suffering alone,” said Officer Emily Jones, who led the rescue effort. “They were so weak and sickly.” The kittens were immediately transported to the Brandywine Valley SPCA for emergency care. Veterinarians treated their infections, gave them food and water, and provided them with a warm and safe place to recover. According to the SPCA, the kittens may have been born to a stray cat that had taken up residence in the warehouse. However, it’s unclear how long they had been stranded there or why they were abandoned. “It’s possible that their mother was unable to care for them or that she was killed,” said Dr. Sarah Thompson, a veterinarian at the SPCA. “We’re doing everything we can to help these little ones get healthy and find loving homes.” The SPCA is currently seeking adopters for the rescued kittens. They will be available for adoption once they have fully recovered and been spayed or neutered. “We’re hopeful that these adorable kittens will find forever homes where they can thrive and be loved,” said Officer Jones. “It’s a reminder that even the most vulnerable animals deserve a chance to live a happy and healthy life.”
