PVL+ Draft Combine Opens for Free Agents The Philippine Volleyball League (PVL) has announced the opening of the PVL+ Draft Combine for free agents. The combine, scheduled for February 11-12, 2023, will provide a platform for unsigned volleyball players to showcase their skills and earn a spot on a PVL team. The draft combine is open to all free agents who meet the following eligibility criteria: * Filipino citizens or Filipino-foreigners with Philippine passports * 18 years of age or older as of January 1, 2023 * High school graduates * No current contracts with other volleyball leagues or clubs Interested players are required to submit the following documents by January 31, 2023: * Official application form * Copy of passport or birth certificate * High school diploma or certification * Volleyball resume or proof of experience * Medical clearance The combine will include physical and skills testing, as well as interviews with team representatives. Players will be evaluated based on their athleticism, volleyball skills, and potential. The top-performing players from the combine will be invited to join the official PVL+ Draft, scheduled for March 2023. Free Agent Volleyball Combine Opens at Gameville The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is conducting a two-day Combine from June 25-26 at Gameville Ball Park in Sheridan, Mandaluyong for free agents. Free agents, who are players that participated in the 2021 season or after and do not have a current contract, will have the opportunity to showcase their skills to league coaches and potentially land a contract. The Combine will also include 47 aspirants for the PVL Draft. “This Combine is the second chance that many players long for,” said PVL Commissioner Sherwin Malonzo. “It’s an opportunity for them to demonstrate their skills and dedication to our league’s decision-makers.” Free agents who wish to participate can register online or email the application form to the provided address. The combine, scheduled for September 24 to 26 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, aims to provide a platform for aspiring volleyball players to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot on a PVL team. “This is a great opportunity for us to discover new talents and give them a chance to compete at the highest level,” said PVL President Ricky Palou. Players interested in participating in the combine must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) license. They must also submit their resume, a video of their skills, and a cover letter. The combine will include drills, scrimmages, and fitness tests. A panel of coaches and scouts will evaluate the players and select the top prospects to join the PVL draft pool. The PVL draft is scheduled for October 22. Teams will be able to select players from the draft pool to fill out their rosters for the upcoming season. The addition of a free agent draft to the PVL is expected to boost the league’s competitiveness and provide more opportunities for talented volleyball players.
