Pryce will play his father, a retired psychiatrist with a sharp mind and a passion for solving puzzles. The cast also includes Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, and Gemma Arterton, who were previously announced as the four members of the Thursday Murder Club. Filming on “The Thursday Murder Club” is currently underway in England. The film is scheduled for release in 2023. Star-Studded Cast Assembled for ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ Film Adaptation The highly anticipated film adaptation of Richard Osman’s best-selling novel “The Thursday Murder Club” has secured the talents of renowned actors David Tennant and Jonathan Pryce, joining an already star-studded cast. On his podcast “The Rest Is Entertainment,” Osman revealed the exciting additions to the cast. “We’ve already had the four main people, but there are still a few cast members,” he teased. “There are some big names and more names to come. I think this is the biggest British cast put together since the (Harry Potter) films.” Earlier this year, it was announced that Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie would portray Elizabeth, Ibrahim, Ron, and Joyce, respectively, the four retired friends who form an amateur detective club. The four friends become embroiled in a real crime when a shady property developer is found dead. On the podcast, Osman confirmed that Jonathan Pryce would play Elizabeth’s husband, while Naomi Ackie would portray police officer Donna de Freitas. David Tennant’s role in the film remains a secret. Daniel Mays and Henry Lloyd-Hughes have also been cast in undisclosed roles. Chris Columbus will direct and produce the film adaptation, with filming set to commence this month. Osman’s original novel “The Thursday Murder Club” was published in 2020, spawning three sequels: “The Man Who Died Twice” (2021), “The Bullet That Missed” (2022), and “The Last Devil to Die” (2023).
