The project, estimated to cost around $65 million, will add approximately 70,000 square feet to the existing facility. The expansion, known as “The Connective,” will feature: * New Exhibit Galleries: New exhibits will showcase the evolution of rock music, featuring interactive displays and artifacts from legendary artists. * Increased Space for Education: The expansion will create dedicated areas for educational programs, workshops, and masterclasses, providing aspiring musicians with opportunities for mentorship and instruction. * Multipurpose Venue: A new multipurpose venue within “The Connective” will host concerts, film screenings, and other special events. * Improved Visitor Experience: The expansion will optimize the overall visitor experience, with enhanced lighting, acoustics, and a dedicated merchandise store. The project is a collaboration between the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and various local organizations, including the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. Construction is expected to begin in 2023 and be completed by 2025. The expansion of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a major investment in Cleveland’s cultural and economic vitality. It is expected to attract more visitors, boost tourism, and create jobs in the region. “This expansion will allow us to better tell the story of rock and roll and provide a more immersive experience for our visitors,” said Greg Harris, President and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “We are excited to continue to serve as a destination for music lovers and a catalyst for the revitalization of downtown Cleveland.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, established in 1983, has inducted over 350 artists and bands into its elite membership. The museum’s collection includes over 1,000 artifacts, including instruments, costumes, and handwritten lyrics. The expansion is a testament to the enduring legacy and continuing influence of rock and roll music.
